Differentiating yourself for employers: Identify your Workplace Passion which leads to Workplace Purpose! with Armers Moncure, Tuesday November 1, 2011

NOTE: This session is part two of the presentation Armers made to GO! Network on May 31, 2011.  To prepare for the day, take time to view the video presentation here: Differentiating yourself for employers: Identify your Workplace Passion! with Armers Moncure – Tuesday May 31, 2011

In Session 1, we talked about the importance of identifying your Workplace Passion because so many people never put love and work in the same sentence, subsequently, according to recent surveys, as much as 80% of Americans are unhappy with the work they do each day.  We also talked about how this impacts American businesses and the US economy to the tune of about $300 Billion in lost revenue annually.  More specifically, we went through a 3-step process that helped participants identify their Workplace Passion.  We also discussed how this leads to increased engagement in the workplace, and how this level of engagement differentiates you from other candidates.

In Session 2, we will build upon the Workplace Passions you identified in Session 1 by diving a little deeper, helping you understand why these Passions are so meaningful to you.   I will help you paint a clearer picture of what success looks like when fully living your Workplace Passions, and we will identify some steps to take to lead you in the direction of your ideal Work Life, as well as warn you of the number one reason that stops us from living our ideal lives.

So does loving your work really matter?  Is it possible to generate passion doing work that’s not my passion?  Do I have to choose between making money and following my passion?  How can I know what my work passion is?  Can I reinvent myself this late in my career to doing the work I love?

In this session we will discuss:

  • The link between Employee Engagement and your Workplace Passion
  • Why getting clear about what you love to do is so important
  • Identify why certain Workplace Passions are important to you
  • Connect the dots between Workplace Passion, Workplace Purpose and Workplace Prosperity
