Did you know – In a classic study conducted by sociologist Mark Granovetter entitled “Getting a Job”, it was discovered that:
- 56% of those surveyed found their current job through a personal connection
- 19% used what we consider traditional job-searching routes, like newspaper job listings and executive recruiters
- 10% applied directly to an employer and obtained a job
This study has become the seminal work in its field, and its findings have been confirmed over and over again…so what does that mean to you?
Now more than ever before, you need to connect to others to find your perfect job. Knowing about a position before it’s posted and having a supporter already inside the organization is key to landing your dream job. So, how do you make these important connections?
On November 8, join Karen Hoffman, Dream Champion and founder of City of Experts, as she shares ideas and information on how you can become a better connector, find other connectors, and experience fulfillment by helping others on your journey to your next job/career.
